Macclesfield Silk Museum takes you on a journey back to the Cheshire’s industrial roots. Visitors can learn about and explore the journey through the industrial process of silk making, from the cocoon to the loom. With plenty of hands on exhibits for children and adults alike, the museum houses a permanant exhibition which explores the properties of silk, design education, Macclesfield’s diverse textile industries, workers lives, Macclesfield Silk during the war and historic machinery as well as hosting temporary exhibitions.
