The Barnaby Festival came back with a bang in 2018, with a bumper programme of fantastic events across 10 midsummer days. We’ll be updating details of the 2020 event when details have been announced.
The festival is held in Macclesfield biyearly, the Barnaby Parade is organised by Macclesfield Art Space and may still hold a Parade in 2019, we hope to have more details in coming months.
Barnaby Parade 2018
The famous Barnaby Parade will be held on Saturday 16th June 2018. This years festivals theme will revolve around ‘Roots/Routes’ and include street theatre. Events on the day start from 10am with lots of things to do for the family. The parade starts around 12pm until around 1pm with street entertainment and events in to the evening.
The town council have announced free parking throughout Macclesfield from 10am on Saturday 16th June, including Dukes Street, Town Hall, Exchange Street, Churchill Way, Park Green, Sunderland Street and Waters Green.
Barnaby Big Weekend
Make sure you don’t miss the Barnaby Big Weekend, with something for the whole family including live music and DJ’s on stage, the ditzy Dad dancing competition, the Big Sing choir and Belshazzar’s Feast, beer and brewing talks & walk, Pants on Fire lying contest and of course the Barnaby Parade – with floats and potato riots plus street entertainment, games, food, drink and ice cream.
