Chester Zoo is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the UK. Established over 80 years ago by George Mottershead, he had a vision of creating a unique Zoo without bars and pioneered a unique experience, offering kids and adults a rare opportunity to see animals in from all over the world within comfortable enclosures recreating their  environment, here in Cheshire.

Today Chester Zoo is a registered charity and continues to lead the way in the welfare and protection of wildlife,  which has always been at the heart of everything they do.

The Zoo is a fabulous day out with attractions to keep you busy for a whole day, if not longer! Enjoy exploring the 125 acre site, with over 500 species amongst beautiful gardens, places to eat or enjoy a coffee, tea or cold drink. Over recent years the Zoo expanded its facilities to include a wonderful boat trip plus a brand new monorail which takes you around the whole site.

It’s only an hours drive from Macclesfield, you can save money buy purchasing tickets online in advance, or turn up on the day. There are also special tours which you can pre-book to make the most of the experience. For more information, visit their website listed below.
