Hayward & Goodchild Counselling Services, a new state of the art counselling practice in Macclesfield was officially opened by former England Rugby Captain, Bill Beaumont CBE.
The sports legend took time out of a busy schedule preparing for his new role as Head of World Rugby to help three friends launch Hayward & Goodchild counselling services. The new business has been set up to tend to the mental health needs of the general public living in the wider Macclesfield area.
The new practice, brings together three experts from different fields of clinical therapy to ensure children, young people and adults in Macclesfield have access to professional counselling services in a comfortable and inspiring environment.
The counselling practice – run by Linda Hayward, Lisa and Glyn Goodchild – offers one-to-one counselling, play therapy and hypnotherapy in tailor-made surroundings for each service. Bill Beaumont, who captained England 21 times, described the practice as,
‘important for the local community’
He said: “I am very pleased to open the Hayward & Goodchild counselling practice in Macclesfield today. The services provided at the new practice will play an important role in the local community and I’m happy to support the launch of this new venture.”
MP David Rutley said: ““It is great to see Hayward & Goodchild off to such a positive start. There is a lot of work to be done to help particularly young people with mental health challenges and I’m sure that Linda, Lisa and Glyn will be able to assist many of their patients in the months ahead. I wish them every success.”
The quality of counselling service offered at Hayward & Goodchild’s new practice has been an ambition of all three partners for several years, but it only came to fruition when the trio came across the ideal location for their business in Macclesfield. The counselling practice in Duke St. was opened in the company of the practitioners’ friends and former colleagues – many of whom work in the field of mental health.
Glyn Goodchild, partner and practitioner at Hayward & Goodchild, said: “We’re delighted to be opening the practice in Macclesfield, which is my home town. I have worked in the mental health field since I was 14 years old. This now my 57th year working with people and their struggles.”
“We’re delighted to be able to help people from the town and its surrounding areas come through the problems they face. Helping people through difficult moments is a passion that all three partners share. We owe a debt of gratitude to Bill Beaumont for coming to highlight these services. It’s a very busy time for him, but a great way for us to start. We’re also looking forward to meeting people from the area over the coming months and years. Our services will be offered at reduced prices for the foreseeable future, up until the practice becomes established, and we’re already accepting referrals from local GPs.”
