Macclesfield In October ‘Macctober Fest’ Set To Be A Sell Out Event.
Macclesfield In October ‘Macctober Fest’ is expected to sell out in weeks. The final line up has now been released for the Friday 22nd October, Saturday 23rd October and Sunday 24th October sets.
The charity event was originally set to go ahead in May and was originally called ‘Macclesfield In May’. With the uncertainty revolving around the shutdown, the event organisers pushed back the event to October 2021. The festival has been aptly reborn to be Macclesfield In October ‘Macctober Fest’ .
Macclesfield has come a long way over the last 15 years, after being named the most uncultured town in Britain 15 years ago. Macclesfield now attracts tens of thousands of visitors every month with some fantastic events. These include the monthly Treacle Market, Macclesfield Festival, Barnaby Arts Festival, Gawsworth Hall Open Air Theatre, Macclesfield Beer Festival, Bluedot Festival and Rewind Festival.
Macclesfield In October ‘Macctober Fest’ has already sold over half their tickets and is expected to be a sell out event when the remaining tickets go on sale later this month. The event organisers have also said they hope to release additional tickets when further social distancing guidelines have been published.
The Festival will take place at Christ Church in Macclesfield. A stunning and redundant Anglican church and Grade II listed building in the centre of the town. The old church is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust and a dedicated team of volunteers know as the ‘The Roe-naissance Project’. The group take their name from Charles Row (7 May 1715 – 3 May 1781), the famous English industrialist who was responsible for establishing the town. The team are hugely excited to see community events returning to the town and Christ Church.
All the artists performing at the event are donating their time for free. The festival is a non profit initiative working with The Christie Cancer Hospital. Proceeds of the event will help the fundraising for the new Christie Hospital, due to open in Macclesfield in December 2021. The new hospital will help thousands of patients across Cheshire save vital time. Many currently have to travel over 2 hours to Manchester.
